Before the competition at Registration
Once the pilot id criteria are met the code then assigns the score to
that Pilot ID.
With the RACE Interface the Pilot ID is matched with the Pilot ID of
RACE and the score is transferred to RACE.
To setup the RACE interface, see TP RACE documentation.
If a GPS has problems with the pilot number, then one has to enter the number each time by hand during scoring of a track.
At Pilot Registration
Setup your computer at the end of the entry process desks.
First a pilot has to get a number assigned by the comp organizers,
pay, have his FAI license verified, and then he can turn up at your
computer to get the turnpoints.
Maybe the organizers provide a small pilot number sticker which the pilot can stick onto his GPS, which makes it easier to identify a GPS.
For GARMIN, plugin the Garmin,
switch it on.
I recommend to clear out all old waypoints. Advice the pilots to clear their
old waypoints first before handing the GPS to you.. If you got lots of waypoints in a GPS then it takes longer later
on to process the tracks at scoring time.
Best to have the Garmin plugged in and running before you choose the
Menu Option GARMIN.
By pressing GARMIN, it checks for the device type and if there is none
the code will sulk and decide there is nothing to talk to.
Menu option GARMIN then
select the Send Turnpoints to GPS button.
The turnpoints get sent and you see a record of which turnpoint gets send
at the moment.
Afterwards an input box appears which offers to add the pilot number
and the name of the pilot as a turnpoint into the Garmin.
In the background the code creates a cross reference file between pilot
number and name.
Use the menu option OTHER for MLR,
Galileo/Compeo, Log_It,
Aircotec, ...
